What We Believe

What We Believe

God:

We believe in only one true God, One in essence, nature, and attributes, but existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

Jesus Christ:

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His shed blood on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins, in His bodily resurrection and ascension to the Father’s right hand. We do not believe that He is a way to the Father, but rather the only way through which we can receive righteousness, regeneration, sanctification, and glorification. He is, in fact, our salvation. (I Corinthians 1:30-31)

Holy Spirit:

We believe in God the Holy spirit; a real person having the attributes of the whole Godhead. Who condescends to dwell in every born-again believer, guiding, sanctifying and comforting. He alone applies the Father’s saving grace by the blood of the Son unto our salvation. (Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14)

The Scriptures:

We believe that all of Scripture (i.e. both the Old and New Testaments containing 66 books) is verbally inspired by God, and is our final authority in all matters pertaining to doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. (II Timothy 3:16-17)

Man:

We believe that man descended from Adam, created by God a living soul in the image of Godhead and for fellowship with God. Originally created perfect, Adam chose to sin, thereby allowing sin (and by sin, death) to enter the human race. Since that time all human beings (except Jesus Christ) are born sinners, spiritually dead, inheriting from Adam a body of flesh subject to decay and death, and a depraved soul incapable (apart from the saving grace of God) of living a good and God-pleasing life. The free choice of sin confirms our alienation from God and our personal guilt, all people coming justly under the condemnation of God’s wrath. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Ephesians 2:12)

Salvation:

We believe that salvation is purely by grace through faith and not otherwise. (Ephesians 2:8) We believe that all who, in repentance and faith, receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are born-again. (Acts 20:20-21; Romans 10:9-10)

The Church:

We believe that the universal Church is comprised of all true believers who have received salvation through Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23). We believe that the church is not a building or an organization or a creed but is in essence an organism, the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12; Colossians 1:18) with Christ as the Head of the Body (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22-23) and individual members of His Body. We also believe in and encourage fellowship with a local church. (Hebrews 10:25)

The Great Commission:

We believe in the commission of our risen Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 )

The Resurrection:

We believe in the resurrection of the just and the unjust; one to everlasting life and one to everlasting damnation. (Mathew 25:46)

The Second Coming:

We believe in a literal, physical second return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and great glory. (I Thessalonians 1:10; 4:16-17)
